Our Story

In 2015, our co-founders recognized that the unique zoning and facilities needs required by behavioral healthcare operators were not being met by traditional commercial brokers. Furthermore, they recognized that the behavioral healthcare sector held tremendous potential value to institutional and private investors alike ,but was being overlooked for “traditional” medical investment opportunities. Since that time, the BHP Group has become one of the foremost authorities and trusted advisors in the sector.

Michael Cabot is a co-founder and Managing Director of the Behavioral Health Properties Group at Swope Lees Commercial Real Estate, based in Palm Beach, FL. Michael co-manages the group’s operations and business development activities. He also manages national sales and leasing efforts for the company’s behavioral health operator clients.

With over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, Michael brings significant expertise and knowledge in the areas of 1031 “like-kind” exchanges, syndications, medical office development, acquisitions, and medical office leasing to the group.

Josh Slaybaugh is a co-founder and Managing Director of the Behavioral Health Properties Group at Swope Lees Commercial Real Estate, based in Palm Beach, FL. Josh co-manages the group’s operations and national investment sales platform.

Josh brings over 15 years of financial services, deal structuring, capital raising, and commercial real estate experience to the group. Over his career, Josh has acted as an advisor and consultant to numerous high-net worth individuals, family offices, and other institutional real estate investors, including numerous REITs and private equity funds.
